Joomla makes the difficult parts of building and running a high-powered web site easy. That’s why so many people use it! But if you have never used a content management system before, it also seems to make a lot of easy things difficult. These tips are designed for someone who doesn’t know anything about content management systems.
I’d never heard of one before installing Joomla (when it was Mambo). If you’re like me, you’ll find these instructions VERY helpful. I don’t explain anything to you that you could see by poking around the administration page - go to the official help site for that. What I will tell you is how to think about your site before designing it with Joomla, and how to get from point A (“I want to …”) to point B (“here’s how”).
